Visit a community garden nearby

Killaloe-Ballina community garden has two other community gardens nearby, one in Scariff and one in Nenagh.

The community garden in Nenagh is close to the centre of town. Whenever we pass by the gate seems to be open, inviting those interested to visit and enjoy the space.

On entering the garden, herbaceous beds on each side open out to a rustic shelter housing a pizza oven and seating areas with picnic tables and seats.

Through a living willow arch and hedges are a large polytunnel, plots for vegetables and herbs, fruit trees and garden sheds.

In the polytunnel a grape vine is beginning to reach upwards.

A newly built potting bench stands ready for the coming growing season, while winter salad leaves are thriving in one of the beds.

Drop in when you are passing. It’s always interesting to visit other community gardens.
