Many of you were busy in the garden over the Easter break. And it shows. The garden looks great. A lovely spot to spend some time and enjoy the blossom on the fruit trees.
Admire all the preparations for the spell of busy gardening ahead. Plots weeded and raked ready for sowing and planting. Some already planted with cabbage, cauliflower, onions, lettuce, potatoes. Some sown with carrot and radish seed. Grass mowed, paths weeded, edges strimmed.

Rubbish removed. Concrete foundations from the old shelter broken up and carried away. Rotten timber reduced to ashes in a controlled burn. Just two builders bags of rubbish remain to be disposed of.

Woodchip mulch
We were fortunate to be on the way to the garden when the council was clearing woodchips from the children’s playground. It was being raked up and sucked into the road sweeper for disposal. Instead, a council worker generously took many barrow loads down to the garden. It was just the job for mulching the raspberries and strawberries.

Here's to a great season ahead.
